My exquisite corpse soundscape draws inspiration from my childhood in Conifer, Colorado.

With a father that believes in Bigfoot, my home in the mountains was in prime Sasquatch territory. And, as a gullible kid, I couldn't help but believe too. Hiking around my property (probably fetching a basketball that fell down the mountain), taking out the garbage, and walking my dog at dusk was always stressful.

The crunching of snow under my feet in the winter made any stealthy movement nearly impossible. With moonlight creeping through the towering evergreen trees, I was entirely at the mercy of the wilderness.

Although there were no Sasquatches in the forest surrounding my house, the foxes, elk, and bears kept my heart racing. Their footsteps, growls, and eye-shine terrorized my adolescent imagination. This 4'33" piece attempts to capture the sensation of these strolls in the darkness. An unassuming traveler encounters a beast in the dark and hurries away gripped by fear. Audio is the perfect medium to recreate the sightless horror.
